#Trust30 Day 3: One Strong Belief

Magic mirror - from emailjunkIf I had the kind of mirror that some people have, I might be able to glimpse my heart.
Deep down there, they say, in your core, in your essence – there it lives, only truth.
I am not sure about that, because I don’t know if I hold one strong belief.

So I am challenged by the idea that I should hold one. I am challenged by the idea that if I had one, I would act upon it.
It seems such a foreign thing to me, like anything coming from Western Australia :)

  • I believe that you can use both sides of a piece of paper and sometimes I do.
  • I believe that I have no right to judge other people, but I am not the one campaigning for the rights of this minority or that minority.
  • I believe that I am generous and not generous. To my husband’s dismay I would give my home away if it was needed, yet I don’t give my time to charities.
  • I believe that there is one God and that we call that being many different names, but I don’t go to a church.
  • I believe that there is hope, yet I’ve suffered from depression all the same.
  • I believe that laughter is good medicine and exercise leads to good health, but I’ve neglected both for some time
  • I believe that we all get too tangled in the tiny things and I thought about this one while getting tangled in the tiny things.

I could go on like this forever, but where is that one strong belief in all of this? I can’t seem to grasp it, in this single narrative.

So today I fail #trust30 and maybe that’s because I strongly believe that there are always at least two sides to a story.

  1. I believe that I believe you are right.
I honestly am ambivalent about so many things. I see shades of gray in most circumstances, too.
    Thanks for sharing.
